Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown drew attention after Arch Manning led the Longhorns to a 27-17 win over the Aggies on Friday. This marked Aggies' first loss of the season.
Overshown, who played for the Longhorns at college, added fuel to an already heated rivalry. His tweet appeared to be aimed at Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed.
"Try again, next year Lil Bro👎🏾," Overshown tweeted on Friday.

After opening 5-of-17, Arch Manning steadied the offense. Manning finished 14 of 29 for 179 yards and a passing touchdown. He also rushed for 53 yards, including a decisive 35-yard score in the fourth quarter. His ability to control the game late was the difference as Texas overcame a 10-3 halftime deficit.
Entering the game as a Heisman contender, Reed struggled in critical moments. He threw two costly fourth-quarter interceptions and never recovered rhythm against Texas’ defensive pressure. He ended up finishing with 180 yards in the loss. His late-game collapse directly contributed to A&M’s playoff hopes slipping away.
Arch Manning’s NFL hype dropped after early 2025 struggles at Texas, including inconsistent accuracy, increased turnovers, and a poor opener against Ohio State. Critics said expectations were inflated. His performance later stabilized.
Manning has produced over 2,700 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, seven interceptions, plus rushing contributions.
Steve Sarkisian sends a message after Arch Manning leads Texas to win vs. A&M
Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian discussed his team’s place in the playoff discussion after Texas’ 27-17 win over Texas A&M on Friday. Sarkisian argued that the Longhorns’ overall résumé and willingness to schedule top-tier opponents should be recognized.
“I think we’re absolutely a playoff team," Sarkisian said. "We just beat them by two scores. So to me, that’s a pretty impressive win, a pretty dominant win for our team that I don’t know how many other teams can say they have wins like that on their schedule.”
Sarkisian highlighted Texas’s Week 1 road trip to strengthen their playoff case.
“We went on the road to Ohio State in Week 1 and lost to them in a one-score game," he said. "We outgained them by nearly 200 yards… Do you want us not to schedule Ohio State? Because if we’re a 10–2 team right now, this isn’t a discussion.”
Sarkisian’s message is clear. Texas took on the toughest schedule it could, and performances like this are proof of intent, not accident.
