Travis Kelce's ex Kayla Nicole sounds off on "arrogant" Shedeur Sanders narrative after Browns QB claps back at reporter

Travis Kelce's ex, Kayla Nicole, came to the defense of Shedeur Sanders following the Cleveland Browns' 26-8 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. The rookie quarterback was asked to share his thoughts on Kevin Stefanski's decision to keep the offensive unit on the field for multiple fourth downs.

Sanders snapped back at the reporter and backed his coach.

“First, that's a rude question to ask," Sanders said. "If I think, it was a great call by my coach. I like being out there playing. So whatever that comes with, it comes with. We're not going to be here and ever point fingers at no coach or do anything like that."

Nicole shared the clip on her Instagram story.

"Remember when the media was all up in arms running with the 'he's arrogant' narrative?" Nicole wrote. "We heard he was the 'worst formal interview' pre-draft on loop. Can we cover these moments with same vigor please?"

Sanders made his second NFL start in challenging weather conditions. He completed 16 of 25 passes (64%) for 149 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions. Sanders was sacked three times.

He managed to produce a highlight, throwing a 34-yard touchdown pass to rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. It gave the Browns an 8-7 lead late in the first half.

However, Cleveland's offense managed just 60 total yards through the second half. The team made multiple mistakes, including turnovers on special teams and failed wildcat plays.

Shedeur Sanders likely to keep the QB1 job

Despite a loss in his second start, Shedeur Sanders will remain Cleveland's starting quarterback in Week 14, according to Browns coach Kevin Stefanski. ESPN also reported that the team is open to giving Sanders an extended look for the rest of the season.

The rookie admitted that he did not play well against the 49ers. However, Sanders said he knows what he could do differently and prepare himself for every possibility.

Cleveland (3-9) will host Tennessee (1-11) on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET. The Titans have also struggled in their first season with Cam Ward under center.
