Cleveland Browns insider Tony Grossi is skeptical about coach Kevin Stefanski's future with the team after a disappointing record this season. On Tuesday's episode of "ESPN Cleveland", he sounded the alarm on his job security as the team heads into their bye week. He also stated that the Browns "might have to" fire him after the end of the 2025 campaign."I believe that they don't want to (fire Stefanski), but they might have to," Grossi said. "With this offensive disaster, I mean, it's different if they're losing like Cincinnati's losing. ... Give some excitement and score some points. It's been over a year since they won on the road. If they don't win this Jets game, will they ever win again on the road?"The last road victory for the Browns was against the Jacksonville Jaguars in November 2024. This season, they've had a lot of offensive troubles right from the start.Kevin Stefanski had named veteran Joe Flacco as the starting quarterback before their season opener against the Bengals. However, after a disappointing 1-3 record, he was benched for rookie Dillon Gabriel ahead of their Week 5 showdown against the Vikings. A few days later, Flacco was traded to the Bengals. With Gabriel as the QB1, things did not improve for Kevin Stefanski and the Browns. Their offensive slop continued, with their only win coming against the Dolphins in Week 7. They are currently 2-6 after losing to the Patriots in Week 8.Browns owner Jimmy Haslam remains confident in Kevin StefanskiBefore their loss to the Patriots, Jimmy Haslam came forward to talk about Stefanski's future with the franchise. He expressed his confidence in the coach's ability to lead the team to success on the field."Kevin's done a really really good job with us, and we've had some tough breaks," Haslam said as per The Athletic's Diana Russini. "A big trade (Deshaun Watson trade) we made didn't work out, and, you know, we're all suffering from that."Kevin, I thought, really did a great job of rallying the troops last week (against the Dolphins) at a really critical time. You find out about leaders when things are bad, not when they're good, and he did a good job last week."Kevin Stefanski took over as the Browns coach in 2020. Since then, he's helped the team to two playoff appearances. Last season, they finished dead last in the AFC North with a 3-14 campaign. He currently holds a 42-50 losing record with the franchise in six seasons.
