"This will mess up my drip": Shedeur Sanders breaks silence on wearing thong rumors during Browns vs. Titans clash

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders made the rounds on social media during his impressive Week 14 outing against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. The No. 144 pick took on Cam Ward and Co., showing glimpses of brilliance, but struggling to make good decisions in critical moments.

Moreover, Sanders turned a lot of heads when fans speculated about whether he was wearing a thong during Sunday's game. In a clip shared on his Instagram, Shilo Sanders directly asked his brother whether he wore a thong against the Titans.

"Come on, bro," Shedeur said. "You forgot I had a back injury, right? So I get my back taped. But that is crazy that it did look like that. That's funny, though. That was called back tape, bruh."

Then Shilo brought up the time Shedeur Sanders picked a white little bag for his outfit, but his brother defended his decision. Sanders said he tried to avoid a situation like that, but he was persuaded.

"It was crazy because I've been wearing like a scuba suit under, 'cause it be cold. I was like--because I know the shirt was short, so I'm like, 'Aye, this will mess up my drip a little bit, huh?' He was like, 'Nah, fam. You good, you don't need it.' Then I come after the game and they're talking about I got on a thong."

Shedeur Sanders suffered a back injury against Washington State during his senior year. He dealt with the issue this season, too, prompting Browns coach Kevin Stefanski to promote Bailey Zappe to QB2 against the New England Patriots in October.

The Browns played a close, hard-fought duel against the Titans, losing 31-29. Sanders went 23 of 42 for 364 yards and three touchdowns with one interception. He added three carries for 29 yards and one touchdown with three sacks.

Shannon Sharpe suspicious of Browns naming Shedeur Sanders starting QB for the rest of the season

The Browns confirmed Shedeur Sanders will remain their starter for the remainder of 2025 following three starts. Former NFL player turned analyst Shannon Sharpe questioned whether there was something else behind the move.

"I really hate to feel this way," Sharpe said on his "Nightcap" show on Monday. "But a part of me is like … yeah, we’ll let him start the rest of the season … oh Bears, Bills, Steelers, Bengals. ... If I was Shedeur, I’d be like, 'Nah, I’m good. I already showed y’all what I can do. Put Dillon in there.'"

Sanders is 1-2 as the Browns' QB1, beating the Las Vegas Raiders in his first start and losing the next two games against the San Francisco 49ers and the Titans, respectively.
