Kevin Stefanski has come under fire after his Cleveland Browns suffered a 23-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11 on Sunday. The Browns led 16-10 at halftime, but were forced to bring on Shedeur Sanders in the second half after starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel suffered a concussion.Sanders completed four of 16 passes for 47 yards with one interception. Following the Browns' loss to Baltimore, analyst Shannon Sharpe slammed Stefanski for dropping Sanders into an NFL game with no prior practice snaps with the offensive starters on the team."For Kevin Stefanski to say the first time that Shedeur Sanders had taken a snap with the starters, with ones (first team), was in this game, is malpractice," Sharpes said on his "Nightcap" show. "So you don't think Dillon Gabriel could possibly get hurt? He can't possibly break a knee, break a shoulder, get a concussion, there's no possible way anything could possibly go wrong that you want to get Shedeur get like one reps with the ones, two reps with the ones?"I ain't saying split it 50-50, I understand that. But even when John (Elway) was taking the majority of reps (at Denver). If we did 10 reps in a period, the backup would take two, just in case. So, for Shedeur Sanders, here we are in Week 11, the man got drafted in May, and at no point in time had he taken one snap with the ones. It's very, very disappointing."The Browns took Gabriel with the No.94 pick in this year's draft. Sanders was the second QB they drafted, with the No. 144 pick.Kevin Stefanski will return Dillon Gabriel to QB1 once he clears concussion protocolCleveland Browns HC Kevin Stefanski - Source: ImagnAfter the loss to Baltimore, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed that Dillon Gabriel will remain the team's starting quarterback. However, the rookie will have to pass the concussion protocols if he is to start in Week 12 against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. The Browns are all but out of the playoffs. They are last in the AFC North with a 2-8 record.Stefanski is in his sixth year as Cleveland's coach. However, he has posted just five wins since the start of the 2024 season, which is worrysome.
