South Carolina WR Nyck Harbor had a weird interaction with a state trooper during Saturday's game against the Texas A&M Aggies at Kyle Field. After the clip of this incident went viral on social media, Stephen A. Smith came forward to call for immediate action against the officer.

In a video he shared on X, he heavily criticized the officer for bumping into Nyck Harbor and said that he should be suspended from working in college football games.

"This is a no-brainer," Smith said. "Nyck Harbor from South Carolina, catches a pass, scampers down the field for a damned long touchdown run, runs into the tunnel because he's holding his hamstring. His teammates come to help him because they know that something must be wrong because he kept going in there and he's holding his hamstring.

"He comes back out, you can see the officer at the stadium walk in between the two players and literally bumps into both of them and flexes his arm before turning around and telling them to get out of here and all this other stuff. ... That's an automatic suspension. That man shouldn't me allowed to work the game again. What you doing messing with a player like that for? ... You knew it was a player for South Carolina. You knew that and you did it anyway."

After the incident, Texas A&M police released a statement saying that the officer had been "relieved" of his duties from that game.

"We are aware of the incident in the NE tunnel involving a DPS trooper. He has been relieved of his game day assignment."

Nyck Harbor ended the night recording 102 yards and one touchdown receiving. However, the South Carolina Gamecocks ended up losing 31-30 despite having a 27-point lead heading into the third quarter.

Did Nyck Harbor injure himself during loss to Texas A&M?

After scoring the 80-yard touchdown in the first half, Harbor hobbled down the tunnel while holding his hamstring. This raised concerns about the wide receiver suffering a potential injury. It was when he was returning to the field that the incident with the state trooper took place.

Despite returning to the game, Harbor lay on his side during a fourth-quarter play before being helped off the field by the medical team. He was later seen entering the locker room with a trainer.

After the game, coach Shane Beamer said that Harbor was taken to the hospital for a precautionary assessment.

"As I walked in there, the plan was to take him to the hospital," Beamer said per On3. "Just saw him in the training room with his dad. He landed on the sideline, and the guy game down on his chest. So I think they just want to, from a precautionary standpoint, make sure everything's ok."

The South Carolina Gamecocks are 3-7 following Saturday's loss, eliminating them from bowl game eligibility.
