On Tuesday, analyst Skip Bayless was asked if the Jaguars failed Hunter in his rookie season.

"Yeah," Bayless said on the "Arena: Gridiron" show. "I mean, we've gone round and round about this. ... You play every play at cornerback and you play 50-60% of the time on offense."

Bayless also hinted that Jacksonville could have used Hunter more effectively.

"He (Hunter) is so gifted at receiver, you can run simple routes and throw it up to him and he will figure it out. Because we saw him figure it out. Yeah, so they (Jaguars) were failing him pretty routinely."

The Jaguars traded up and took Hunter with the No. 2 pick in this year's draft. They swapped picks with the Cleveland Browns in the first round.

Hunter won the Heisman Trophy in his final year at Colorado for his exceptional displays on offense and defense. Unfortunately, his rookie season has been cut short due to a knee injury.

According to reports, Hunter is expected to return to full football activities within six months. However, it will be interesting to see if Hunter can continue to play at the same level after his recovery.

On offense, Hunter posted 28 total catches for 298 yards and a touchdown. He also recorded 15 tackles and three pass breakups in defense. He played 67 percent of offensive snaps for the Jaguars and 36 percent on the defensive side.

The Jaguars will certainly miss Hunter's dual-threat ability for the rest of the season. Jacksonville (5-4) will face the LA Chargers (7-3) in Week 11 on Sunday.
