Pat Surtain II torches NFL referees' officiating during Broncos-Giants game after Richard Sherman's stance

Denver Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain II called out the officials of their Week 7 showdown against the visiting New York Giants, a 33-32 win. Surtain responded to retired Super Bowl champion Richard Sherman's tweet about a defensive pass interference call on Riley Moss.

"That DPI on Riley Moss is one of the worst calls I have seen! The under thrown ball and Moss turns around and plays the ball. You cannot call that in that situation!" Sherman tweeted.

Pat Surtain II retweeted the take from Sherman, a five-time All-Pro cornerback who is now an Amazon Prime analyst, and criticized the referees.

"They were abysmal !! But got the dub regardless ..." Surtain tweeted.

In the fourth quarter, Riley Moss was flagged for defensive pass interference near the goal line. The call, with New York trailing 30-26, converted a third-and-10 play at the Denver 40-yard line into a first-and-goal at the 1. On the next play, quarterback Jaxson Dart's 1-yard rushing touchdown then gave the Giants a 32-30 lead with 37 seconds left.

However, Denver place-kicker Will Lutz made a 39-yard field goal to win the game 33-32.

The Denver Broncos trailed 19-0 entering the fourth quarter as the offense failed to find any momentum. Bo Nix finally put his team on the scoreboard after finding Troy Franklin with a 2-yard TD pass one minute into the final quarter.

This opened the floodgates for the Broncos. The Giants' defense ended up conceding 33 total points in just the fourth quarter. Nix finished 27 of 50 for 279 yards and four total touchdowns.

Bo Nix left flabbergasted after Broncos' awe-inspiring victory over the Giants in Week 7

In an interview with CBS sideline reporter Melanie Collins after the game, Broncos quarterback Bo Nix expressed his disbelief with how his team managed to make a historic comeback in what looked like a disappointing loss. Denver's 33 fourth-quarter points were the most by any NFL team after being shut out for the first three quarters.

"I felt bad for the people that left early," Nix said. "A complete team effort in the fourth quarter. It was really bad there for a point. The morale was low on the sideline, but guys never quit. Took a few plays, and then the next thing you know, Will Lutz is kicking the game-winner.

"Man, I can't believe it. I never really had one like that. So, that's a first for me. I love our team."

Next, Denver (5-2), which sits on top of the AFC West, is scheduled to host the Dallas Cowboys (3-3-1) at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday.
