Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones shared his thoughts on the offensive pass interference against tight end Jake Ferguson during Thursday's game against the Detroit Lions. Dallas attempted to mount a comeback against Detroit in the fourth quarter, but a flag killed the momentum they had built up to that moment.Quarterback Dak Prescott threw to Ferguson on third-and-3 from the Lions'11-yard line, but the tight end couldn't catch the ball. Instead, a flag was thrown and the player was called for offensive pass interference. The decision was questioned by plenty of fans and players. The Cowboys settled for a field goal, but it wasn't enough, as Detroit scored another touchdown in the following drive.During a Friday appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Jerry Jones shared his thoughts on the call, disagreeing with the referees.“There was no penalty (against) the Cowboys," Jones said, per Jon Machota. "Just not one. Period. … I understand mistakes that officiating makes. … We did not have a penalty on that call.”The Lions ultimately won 44-30, giving the Cowboys' playoff hopes a big blow and snapping their three-game winning streak while improving to 8-5. I got to look at the film, maybe I can see it from their vantage point. I know I talked to the ref after, he said [Jake Ferguson] aggressively pulled through. I’ve never seen a call like that," Prescott said, via Cowboys team reporter Tommy Yarrish.Even Amazon Prime Video analyst Terry McAuley questioned where the offensive pass interference took place.“Kirk, I just see him kind of swimming through. I don’t see offensive pass interference,” McAuley said during the broadcast. “He swims through right there, which is perfectly legal and then gets grabbed. I just don’t see offensive pass interference.”The Cowboys will close out their regular-season series against the NFC North on Dec. 14 in a duel against the Minnesota Vikings. That will be the first of four finals they will play to advance to the postseason.
