The Philadelphia Eagles blew a 21-7 halftime lead against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday to slip to a frustrating 24-21 loss. Former Eagles center Jason Kelce addressed the penalties that cost them the game.

While the Eagles' offense slumped in the second half of the contest, a penalty call on Dallas Goedert's catch frustrated the former Pro Bowler. Kelce shared his feelings on the latest episode of the "New Heights" podcast.

"Slip the tight end out on the backside like he's gonna come back and whack the end, and you just keep running, they call that play," Kelce said. "They hit Dallas Goedert on one. It gets all the way down inside the 40-yard line, but it gets called back. I don't know who's right or wrong, but Matt Pryor is eligible, and he and AJ are on the ball to that side. So illegal formation, right? He's covered up. But that was a great adjustment. I'm like, 'they knew it.'

"I know for a fact they got on the sideline and said, 'Hey, this end took away that play by crashing down. And they're like, hey, this plays here now,' and they f*cking call it. They hit it big. And all of a sudden, it is brought back. The penalties were frustrating, and the turnovers at the end of the game were extremely costly."

Goedert, who took on a secondary role in the Philadelphia offense behind DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown, recorded two receptions on two targets for 20 yards.

Cowboys edge Eagles despite mistakes from Cee Dee Lamb

While the penalties seemingly cost the Eagles the game, the Cowboys got away with one on Sunday as star wide receiver Cee Dee Lamb dropped three passes in the game. It took his tally to seven drops against the Eagles in two games this season.

Lamb acknowledged his mistake and vowed to improve his catching.

“You just find ways to get better,” Lamb said. “You want to be solution-oriented and not really to dwell much on the problem. Granted, we know the problem, I need to catch the f---ing ball. Other than that, man, we’ll be fine. When I do catch it, be ready.”

Despite the frustrating loss, the Eagles are in a commanding position in the NFC East with an 8-3 record, while the Cowboys trail them with a 5-5-1 record.
