"That's assault": Tom Brady's ex-teammate accuses Ja'Marr Chase of spitting on Jalen Ramsey and lying about it    

The Pittsburgh Steelers' 34-12 win against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday was marred with controversy as Pittsburgh defensive back Jalen Ramsey was ejected in the second half for throwing a punch at Cincinnati's Ja'Marr Chase.

Following the game, Ramsey said Chase spat on him, leading to his swing at the Bengals star.

"He spit on me, so it's up," Ramsey said. "I don't give a f**k about football after that, respectfully."

However, Chase denied the allegation, saying it was the verbal altercation that led Ramsey to throw a punch at him.

"I ain't never opened my mouth to that guy," Chase said. "He (didn't) like some of the swears I told him. We'd been going back and forth the whole time, so I'm sure something got under his skin."

Former running back Damian Harris, who shared the locker room with Tom Brady during their time at the New England Patriots, accused Chase of lying.

"Why lie?" Harris said on Monday on CBS Sports HQ. "No. 2, most importantly, what is up with dudes spitting on each other nowadays. What is up with that? Because, first of all, that's assault on the street. That's assault. But above anything, it's one of the most disgusting and dehumanizing things that you can do to another human.

"When did all of a sudden this become cool? When did it become cool to just ... spit on somebody? That's just lame behavior. And I love Jamar Chase. He's one of the best players in the National Football League, but I got to tell it like it is. That's lame behavior."

Jalen Ramsey revealed getting wanted by referees before being ejected for punching Ja'Marr Chase

While Jalen Ramsey was ejected with 13:28 left in the game, the duo were having a go at each other all game. They had a physical altercation earlier in the game when Chase grabbed Ramsey's mouthpiece off his facemask, and he pushed Chase's facemask.

The Pittsburgh Pro Bowler said that the duo was warned by the referees for their altercation.

"We had just talked to the refs," Ramsey said. "I ain't going to do something again to get myself kicked out of the game. The refs had just told us a play before. If you just use your common sense, you'll know, hey, he wasn't just doing it again for no reason. You know what I mean?"

Ramsey swung at Chase's helmet and grabbed his facemask before being separated by players from both teams.
