The incident sparked a reaction from the mother of Chase’s teammate, Tee Higgins. Camilla Stewart, who goes by the moniker @adizlady on X, is known for being active on social media, and she had a stern criticism for the cornerback after the punching incident.

“Ur done…outta here #dirtypissers win or lose they are awful shitturds are so dirty,” Stewart wrote.

After the game, Jalen Ramsey claimed the punch was a reaction to the Bengals' wide receiver spitting on him. The two, who had gone back and forth throughout the game, were flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct a play earlier.

"He spit on me," Ramsey said. "I don't give a f--- about football after that, respectfully. I'm always going to be all for trash talking, s--- talking, things like that. I actually enjoy that part of the game. I think that people know that. ... We were talking s---, which I'm cool with.

“And then as soon as he spit, it was f--- that. ... I'm sure the NFL, they'll do their due diligence. They've got 100 cameras out there. They can investigate. They can see everything. ... They should be able to pull it up and see that he spit and it's whatever after that, to be honest. I was still a little too nice if I'm keeping it honest with you."

Footage shows Ja’Marr Chase spitting on Jalen Ramsey

Ja’Marr Chase denied the allegation of spitting at him made by Jalen Ramsey in his postgame interview on Sunday. However, field-level footage captured by FOX 19 WXIX-TV shows otherwise. The Bengals' wide receiver did indeed spit on the Steelers’ cornerback.

Game broadcast footage didn't capture the scene, so the officials didn't see that in their review before ejecting Ramsey. The game referee, Bill Vinovich, in the pool report said confirmed in the pool report that they didn't see Chase spit on Ramsey.

Ja’Marr Chase could now face the disciplinary action of the league for his unsportsmanlike conduct. Philadelphia Eagles Jalen Carter was suspended for a game after spitting on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott in the season opener in September. Chase could face a similar sanction.

It's only the second time Jalen Ramsey has been ejected from a game in his professional career. His previous ejection also came against the Bengals while playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
