Travis Kelce’s fiancée, Taylor Swift, was confirmed to have nothing to do with a viral rumor with 1.1 million views. It claimed that she paid another bride to get a wedding date at a Rhode Island venue.
The story started after Page Six reported on Thursday that the pop superstar wrote a big check to take a wedding slot at Ocean House on June 13.
The resort denied the rumor via a statement to Fox News Digital on Saturday. Ocean House made it clear that it never lets one person buy another couple’s wedding date.
“Ocean House prides itself on being rooted in client confidentiality, integrity, loyalty and service,” Ocean House's spokesperson said. “The team at Ocean House is committed to offering each of our brides, grooms, their families and friends an experience of a lifetime when hosting a wedding at our resort.”

It also reminded everyone that once a couple books their date, it cannot be replaced.
“When clients and their families choose Ocean House as their wedding venue, it is an agreement and commitment between our team and that family," the spokesperson said.
"Ocean House would not and is not allowing another party or entity to buy a wedding group out of a contracted wedding date,” the statement read. “We appreciate the interest in our brides and grooms yet allow them to confirm their wedding location with who they choose.”
Page Six reported on Nov. 22 that Swift and Kelce will use her $17 million Rhode Island mansion as their wedding location.
They will reportedly spend around $1.2 million on landscaping to build a large garden and add more privacy. Swift wants months of planning to make sure the property is filled with red roses, hydrangeas, orchids and peonies.
There were also rumors claiming that the couple will get married at Breakers estate in Newport. However, the Preservation Society of Newport County denied it on Oct. 24.
“Taylor Swift is not getting married at the Breakers, or any other property the society runs,” Preservation Society of Newport County's Gary Ruff said.
Kelce proposed Swift in August after two years of dating.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s influenced Cambridge Dictionary’s 2025 Word of the Year
Cambridge Dictionary picked “parasocial” as its 2025 Word of the Year. Taylor Swift’s relationship with Travis Kelce was one of the biggest reasons people were using the word often.
A parasocial relationship is a one-sided emotional bond someone feels with a famous person they don’t know in real life.
"Interest in one-sided parasocial relationships that people form with celebrities, influencers and AI chatbots has driven Cambridge Dictionary's Word of the Year for 2025," Cambridge University Press & Assessment's Colin McIntosh said in November.
Cambridge professor Simone Schnall stressed that fandom can be healthy; however, it sometimes becomes too intense. She added that fans often form parasocial bonds with stars like Swift because they are extremely good at what they do.
