Stefon Diggs gave Drake Maye a straightforward message about winning MVP. Diggs, who plays wide receiver for the Patriots alongside the second-year quarterback, has helped the team reach the top the AFC standings.
Diggs addressed reporters in the locker room on Monday. The comments came after New England's victory over the Giants.
"He's an amazing quarterback but that ain't up to us," Diggs said. "What we chasing is gonna be a little more important. But if you continue to play more, it will fall right in your lap."

Drake Maye surges past Matthew Stafford in MVP race after Monday's showing

Drake Maye carved up New York's defense for 282 yards and two scores on Monday, connecting on 24 of 31 attempts. He has a 71.5 completion percentage this year.
DraftKings Sportsbook has Maye as the -135 MVP favorite following Week 13. Matthew Stafford held that spot before stumbling against Carolina.
The LA Rams quarterback tossed a costly pick six and fumbled away the team's comeback hopes on Sunday. His miscues handed the Bears the lead in the NFC.
Maye paces the league with 3,412 passing yards and a 111.9 passer rating. He has thrown 23 touchdowns against just six interceptions despite absorbing 40 sacks.
Patriots coach Mike Vrabel evaluated Maye's performance after Monday's game.
"I think he's able to keep his composure, keep his eyes downfield," Vrabel told reporters. "I thought some of the best plays, I think, are just the extensions, the scramble for a first down, the scramble and to stay in bounds there late in the game."
