Sophie Cunningham has NSFW reaction on Tom Brady playing until 45 years in NFL before retirement

Former NFL quarterback Tom Brady is widely regarded as one of the greatest players due to his accomplishments and WNBA star Sophie Cunningham had an NSFW reaction to the legendary signal-caller's longevity.

In an episode of "Show Me Something Sophie Cunningham & West Wilson discussed the average of current NFL stars. When Wilson mentioned Tom Brady playing in his 40s as "insane," Cunningham chimed in (Timestamp 9:15 onwards):

"F**king insane. That is like Diana Taurasi of (NFL)."

The five-time Super Bowl MVP announced his retirement in February 2022 but reversed his decision a month later to play one more season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His second and final retirement was announced in February 2023 at the age of 45.

Cunnigham's comparison was just as Diana Taurasi enjoyed a remarkable career, playing in the WNBA for two decades before the three-time WNBA MVP's retirement at 42 in February 2025.

Tom Brady's legacy has been recognized globally and the former New England Patriots quarterback was named as one of the draw assistants for Friday's 2026 World Cup draw.

Brady was named among other North American sports legends like NHL Hall of Famer and four-time Stanley Cup champion Wayne Gretzky, three-time AL MVP Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees and four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal.

The former NFL quarterback expressed his delight at being part of the group on Wednesday.

"Being part of the Final Draw for the FIFA World Cup is an incredible honor — it’s the kind of global stage every athlete dreams of," Brady said. "I’m excited to help set the path for a tournament that brings the world together like nothing else."

Brady's interest is not newfound as the NFL icon became the minority owner of English soccer team, Birmingham City F.C., in August 2023. He also serves as the chairman of the club's advisory board.
