Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky pulled no punches defending Jalen Hurts after several reports claimed the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback is at a crossroads with his teammates and coaches. Fans have criticized the one-time Super Bowl champion for his approach and sometimes conservative play style, but it seems the frustration has entered the locker room.

After Dianna Russini and Derrick Gunn reported on Saturday and Monday, respectively, that Hurts has raised some eyebrows within the franchise, many reacted. Jordan Mailata said the team was focused on getting better, while Hurts said he is aware that whenever things go good or badly, he will be under the spotlight.

During Thursday's edition of ESPN's "Get Up," Orlovsky came to Hurts' defense, questioning people for constantly criticizing somebody who has succeeded at his position over the past three years.

“What’s going on with Hurts is so disingenuous and disrespectful to Jalen Hurts, and I’m not the biggest Jalen Hurts fan,” Orlovsky said. “All this dude does is literally everything that everybody begs every other quarterback to do or knocks them for not doing. This dude is 51-14 since 2022. He’s been to two Super Bowls. He’s won one. He’s been the MVP essentially in both. He was the MVP of the Super Bowl last year.”

“All he does is win,” Orlvosky continued. “He is obsessed with football and winning and doing what’s best for the team, and we’re just finding ways to knock him or take shots at him or report about this, about him or that about him.”

The Eagles boast an 8-2 record and the No. 1 seed in the NFC, beating strong opponents such as the Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs and the LA Rams.

Through 10 games, Jalen Hurts has completed 66.9% of his passes for 1,995 yards, 16 touchdowns and one interception. Additionally, he has rushed for 265 yards and six touchdowns.

Jason Kelce explains how Jalen Hurts, Eagles can overcome this situation

Former Eagles star lineman Jason Kelce also weighed in. During an appearance on SportsRadio 94WIP on Thursday, Kelce explained how his former team can put this situation behind them.

“The bottom line is if they start having success on the field, that will fix all of this stuff. That’s why it fixed everything towards the end of last year, and that’s why this offseason there were no sources and unnamed things coming out.”

The Eagles face the Dallas Cowboys in Week 12, which could be a good chance to turn the situation around.
