"Shouldn't be positive, should be pissed off": Jason Kelce shares honest take as Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley face outrage from Eagles fans

Jason Kelce offered some advice to Philadelphia players dealing with angry fans. The former Eagles center said it was important for the more experienced players to step up and take charge of the situation.

Philadelphia lost to the LA Chargers 22-19 in overtime on Monday, extending its losing streak to three games. Jalen Hurts threw four picks and lost the ball five times. The quarterback became the first player since 1978 to turn the ball over twice on a single play. Saquon Barkley ran effectively early but got only five carries after halftime despite averaging over five yards per attempt in the first half.

Fans have expressed frustration with the offense, which has struggled to get going this season.

"When it's not going well (and) it's gonna be really overwhelming at times," Kelce said on Wednesday, via SportsRadio 94 WIP. " ... That's where you need guys that have been through it before, especially in this city that understands that they're this way because they care and it's unacceptable what's happening on the field.

"You have to guide players through that because it's very easy for players to either take offense, making them hesitant or down on themselves. And I think that, or conversely, just block it all out like nothing wrong is happening. ... You guys shouldn't be positive. You guys should be pretty pissed off."

Philadelphia's offense has managed just 81 points across the last five weeks. Eagles coach Nick Sirianni shut down rumors about benching Jalen Hurts, calling them "ridiculous" when asked by 94WIP reporters.

Saquon Barkley mentioned after Monday's loss that the team's goal this season is still within reach.

"Everything we want is still in front of us," Barkley said during the postgame presser.

The Eagles will look to get back on track when they host the struggling Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
