Rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders is still waiting for his opportunity to make his debut for the Cleveland Browns this season. While he's waiting for his chance, Coach Prime's son seemingly threw shade on the team's QB1 and his rookie counterpart, Dillon Gabriel. On Monday, Browns reporter Brad Stainbook tweeted about how he shared a post on Instagram urging Kevin Stefanski and his team to start Sanders after a disappointing run under Gabriel. According to him, Sanders liked that post, raising questions about his stance on the ex-Oregon quarterback."#Browns QB Shedeur Sanders liked my Instagram post where I called for the team to start the former Colorado quarterback following the bye week," Stainbrook tweeted. The Browns started the year with veteran Joe Flacco as their starting quarterback. However, after a disappointing 1-3 start, Kevin Stefanski decided to give Gabriel a chance. On Oct. 7, Flacco was traded to the Bengals, with the ex-Oregon star replacing him.Dillon Gabriel has helped the Browns to a 2-6 record after Sunday's loss to the Patriots. He has tallied 702 yards and five TDs passing. Sanders, on the other hand, continues to serve as the backup quarterback.ESPN analyst Tony Rizzo expresses frustration over the Browns' decision not to start Shedeur SandersOn Monday's episode of "The Tony Rizzo Show," the analyst blamed Kevin Stefanski and GM Andrew Berry for the team's disappointing 2025 season. He also expressed his frustration over the fact that the team continues to rely on Dillon Gabriel rather than giving Coach Prime's son a chance."I've heard from people around the league that cannot believe the Browns have not prepared Shedeur Sanders to play," Rizzo said. "They're 2-6. What are you waiting for? Are you waiting till you're 2-12, when it doesn't mean anything?"Then, who cares? So, what are they waiting for? And for that reason alone, the front office needs to go. It needs a change-up."Rizzo also highlighted Gabriel's underwhelming performance against the Patriots. The rookie quarterback completed 21 of 35 passes for 156 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.Kevin Stefanski and his team are next scheduled to face the New York Jets on Nov. 9 after their upcoming bye week. What remains to be seen is whether they decide to utilize Shedeur Sanders this season.
