Shedeur Sanders has been the talk of the town since making his regular-season debut against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. The Cleveland Browns rookie has received praise from some experts despite struggling in the game; however, Jason Whitlock is not a fan of it.

He unleashed a scathing criticism toward NFL insider Josina Anderson for persistently defending the quarterback. Anderson posted a clip of one of Sanders' four completions on X.

"Here was the against-all-odds 3/10 completion by Shedeur Sanders under 2 min. #Browns," Anderson tweeted on Sunday.

Whitlock reshared Anderson's post and took a dig at her for her statement.

"This is genius. 6.2 million views. Joy-sina Anderson," Whitlock tweeted on Monday.

The sports commentator followed it up with another jab at Anderson.

"Gotta hand it to Joy-sina Anderson. She's now a big part of the Shedeur story moving forward. People will be monitoring her twitter all day on Sunday," Whitlock tweeted.

Sanders completed just 4 of 16 passes for 47 yards, one interception and two sacks. Whitlock said the rookie was forced to play only due to Dillon Gabriel's concussion, and that it was only a circumstantial necessity. He also stressed that Browns coach Kevin Stefanski didn't deliberately sabotage Sanders.

Shedeur Sanders gets brutally honest about his NFL debut

Shedeur Sanders was thrust onto the field against the Ravens after Dillon Gabriel suffered a concussion. He struggled to get anything going, as Baltimore’s defense swarmed him relentlessly. The rookie didn’t sugarcoat his performance.

“I don’t think I played good,” Sanders told reporters after Sunday's game. “I don’t think I played good at all. I think there’s a lot of things we need to look at during the week and go and just get comfortable even throwing routes with Jerry and throwing routes with all those guys. So I think that was my first ball to him all year.”

Despite the rough outing, Sanders earned respect in the locker room. Myles Garrett expressed his support for Sanders and asked him not to pin the loss on himself. The Browns pass rusher also told him not to get discouraged by a few drives.

Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski addressed Sanders' role in the postgame presser. He confirmed that Gabriel remains “the starter when he is healthy” and expects him to reclaim the job once he passes concussion protocol. Should Gabriel miss Sunday's game, Sanders is expected to earn his first career start against the Raiders.
