Shedeur Sanders endured a rough outing against the Chicago Bears but Bills coach Sean McDermott still had high praise for him ahead of Sunday's Week 16 matchup. McDermott leads a Bills defense that ranks No. 2 in the NFL in pass defense. Buffalo allows just 169.5 yards per game through the air and holds opponents to a 60.5% completion rate.
The Bills' coach addressed Sanders' performance through four NFL starts.
"Good young player, off to a great start. Dangerous with the toolset he brings to the table. He's done a great job," McDermott said during Wednesday's presser.

Shedeur Sanders says this season is "the worst it's going to be"

The rookie quarterback addressed reporters on Wednesday and made it clear he views this year as a building block.
Buffalo's defense has surrendered a league-low 1,221 yards after the catch this season. That's a problem for Cleveland, because yards after the catch is where the Browns have done well in Shedeur Sanders' four starts.
"Well, I'm just excited that I'm able to get everybody's best. I'm just getting in the league and my feet settled and everything. So I get excited knowing I'm able to face those challenges because you've got to understand this, this year right here, this is worst it's going to be. You know what I'm saying? This is where I'm building from," Sanders said on Wednesday.
For Sanders, getting the ball to his receivers consistently has been the issue. 23 out of his 72 completions have been to rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. Three of Sanders' interceptions came on throws intended for Jerry Jeudy, including one last week that went through the receiver's hands in the end zone.
