Many fans reacted to the move on social media, with some praising Dallas owner Jerry Jones for rebuilding the Cowboys' defense and others wondering if the Jets finessed the "Lone Star" in this trade.

Williams' brother Quincy dropped a cryptic tweet, a GIF from "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," to react to the trade.

Quinnen Williams was drafted with the No. 3 pick in 2019 from Alabama. The defensive tackle has played 99 games, recording 322 tackles, 40 sacks, eight forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries for 12 yards and one interception for 7 yards.

Initially, he signed a $32.5 million rookie contract with the Jets before agreeing to a four-year, $96 million extension in 2023.

The Jets (1-7) continue to struggle, and they blew it up on Tuesday while giving the Cowboys a terrific addition. Following the blockbuster trade for Micah Parsons before the start of the season, the Cowboys' defense looked shaky. The Quinnen Williams trade could prove beneficial for the NFC East team.

Quinnen Williams trade buys Matt Eberflus more time as Cowboys DC

Amid a 3-5-1 season, many Dallas Cowboys fans have called for Matt Eberflus' firing. The defensive coordinator is trying to find consistency on the sideline, and the team's brass is backing him. Executive vice president Stephen Jones denied that Eberflus' job was in jeopardy.

“(We hope) the situation is going to continue to evolve, which I know it will. Coach Eberflus has been a high-end coach. … I know right now he’s not satisfied with where we are. We all have to be better as a team, all our players, all our coaches, all our executives, ownership, everybody needs to look in the mirror and see where they can be better.”

Adding Quinnen Williams and linebacker Logan Wilson is positive for the Cowboys. They could turn things around in the second half of the season if their new pieces click.

The Dallas Cowboys lost to the Arizona Cardinals on Monday night, raising eyebrows among the fan base. Their net matchup will be against the Las Vegas Raiders on Nov. 17.
