Proposed blockbuster trade sends $100,000,000 LB to Cowboys and fix massive hole left by Micah Parsons

The Dallas Cowboys traded linebacker Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers just before the start of the 2025 NFL season. Since then, the Cowboys have struggled defensively, and many have urged the team to bring in reinforcements to bolster the rear guard.

Amid the rumors of potential trade candidates the Cowboys can acquire, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith is a player who could most certainly strengthen Dallas' defense.

Last week, Cowboys Wire’s Angel Torres put together a trade proposal that would send Smith to Dallas, while Baltimore would receive the Cowboys' 2026 second-round pick and seventh-round pick in 2027.

"Baltimore seems to be a team realistic with their expectations, and a rough start coupled with a slew of injuries could prompt them to make a move. Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith would be a massive upgrade for a team wanting to, dare I say it, ‘go all in’ to try and win a title,” Torres noted.

The Chicago Bears drafted Smith with the No. 8 pick in 2018. The Bears traded the linebacker to the Ravens in October 2022.

In January 2023, the Ravens signed Smith to a five-year, $100 million extension. The deal included $45 million as fully guaranteed, with $60 million in total guarantees.

Smith still has two years left on his contract with the Ravens after this season. In five games this year, Smith has recorded 41 tackles (31 solo), 4.5 stuffs and one fumble recovery.

However, one big obstacle for the Cowboys to land Smith would be to convince Baltimore to trade him.

Micah Parsons has gotten off to a great start with the Packers this season. The defensive end has racked up 17 tackles, 6.5 sacks and three stuffs in seven games.

Parsons has helped the Packers (5-1-1) to the top of the NFC North after Week 8. Many believe that the superstar defensive end could propel the team all the way to win the Super Bowl.

Parsons earned a Pro Bowl honor in each of his four years with the Cowboys.
