Jason Whitlock takes shots at Shedeur Sanders and Coach Prime as Browns QB impresses on first NFL start

Shedeur Sanders had a successful debut as the starting quarterback of the Cleveland Browns in Week 12. However, despite the victory, controversial analyst Jason Whitlock took a shot at the rookie quarterback.

On Monday, Whitlock shared a tweet on X where he called out both Shedeur Sanders and his dad, Coach Prime. He said that the Browns rookie showcased the same behavior when his dad took over as the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes in 2023 and secured his season-opening victory against TCU. However, they ended that year with a 4-8 record.

"Shedeur Sanders mimicked the exact same behavior his father demonstrated after Colorado beat TCU three years ago. Prime Sexuals minicked the exact same behavior they showed after Colorado beat TCU three years ago.

In his first game as the starting quarterback of the Browns, Shedeur Sanders helped his team to a 24-10 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. He completed 11 of 20 passes for 209 yards and one touchdown.

This was an improvement from his second-half performance in Week 11 against the Ravens, where he completed four of 16 passes for 47 yards. With Dillon Gabriel returning from concussion protocol, coach Kevin Stefanski announced on Monday his decision to retain Shedeur Sanders as the QB1 for their next game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Jason Whitlock rooted against Shedeur Sanders before his debut as QB1 for the Browns against the Raiders

Before the Week 12 contest, Whitlock heavily criticized Coach Prime's son in an episode of his show on YouTube.

He then explained his reasoning as to why he wanted Shedeur to embarrass himself and flop in his QB1 debut in the NFL.

"I want him to flop because I think his success would send a horrible message to young kids that arrogance, radical materialism, bravado, entitlement, playing the victim card is all a good thing," Whitlock said (Timestamp-3:12)
"I don't want young people to think that, 'Hey, I got to dress up like a rapper. I have to make rap songs. I have to buy big gold chains. I have to talk in a way that makes me sound ghetto, even though I never once seen the ghetto."
