New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft had an interesting proposal for Rob Gronkowski, as the legendary tight end returned to the Pats to retire with his first team in the league. Gronkowski, one of the best players in his position, would be interested in returning to the field under the right conditions.

During his press conference, Kraft tested the water on whether Gronk would be interested in a longer contract, so he could suit up against the New York Jets on Thursday night.

When asked if Gronkowski would be interested in a two-day contract, the tight end had a fun response.

"Sure, what's the signing bonus?" Gronkowski asked Kraft.

Robert Kraft and Rob Gronkowski shared many memories during the tight end's retirement ceremony on Wednesday. Gronk announced during "FOX NFL Sunday" that he would return to New England for one day to retire as a Patriot.

Kraft praised the former player's impact on the franchise, where he won three of his four Super Bowl championships.

"His clutch performances were legendary, and his larger than life personality and connections with the fans has truly made him a New England icon," Kraft said.

Rob Gronkowski pondered his chances to play against the Jets

Ahead of his retirement ceremony, Rob Gronkowski joined Kay Adams' "Up & Adams" show. The Patriots icon revealed he asked his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, whether ceremonial contracts could allow him to play one more time.

"I hit up my agent Drew Rose, and I was like, Hey, how do these one day contracts even work? I mean, are they truly official? Like, you gotta take someone off the roster," Gronkowski said. "Like, do I typically, like, or, you know, possibly can get a signing bonus as well?"

"Like, you have to probably have some type of pay, you know, structured in the contract, even if it's a one day contract ... if I do sign a one day he would put me in Josh McDaniels, he knows how to ... But if I sign it, if I sign it today, at 12:15 it expires at 12:15 tomorrow, I gotta wait till like 10 pm to sign it tonight, because then I can, typically, I can, I can actually play in the game. Then, until, you know, until about 10:30 tomorrow night."

The Patriots are on a roll, with seven straight wins after a 1-2 start to the season. Adding Gronk to the Drake Maye-led offense would be at least entertaining to watch.
