Former Packers quarterback Kurt Benkert believes that there is one major reason why Philip Rivers has decided to come out of retirement after five years at the age of 44. The veteran quarterback signed with the Indianapolis Colts last week after a plague of injuries in their quarterback department. In a tweet he shared on X, Benkert highlighted how Philip Rivers decided to return to the NFL right before the end of his health insurance, which is paid by the league. Joining the Colts now gives him a few additional years of covered health insurance."No coincidence that Philip Rivers goes back to the NFL right before his health insurance clock runs out. Apart from this, backup Riley Leonard is also recovering from a PCL sprain. On Tuesday's episode of "First Things First," ex-NFL coach Eric Mangini talked about why the Colts decided to sign Rivers out of retirement."This is an organizational Hail Mary, and that's where the Colts are at this point," Mangini said. "They didn't expect to be as good as they were, I don't think, with Daniel Jones, and then they suddenly had the lead in the division."This could be so Riley Leonard went and worked with Philip Rivers prior to the draft. He actually talks all about it. ...
