Cleveland Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders finally got some playing time after the former Colorado quarterback made his NFL debut against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Sanders was called into action during the third quarter of the Browns' Week 11 clash after starter Dillon Gabriel went down with a concussion and didn't come out to play in the second half.

The rookie didn't have the best time on the field as he finished 4-of-16 for 47 yards with an interception. While fans were not pleased with his performance, NFL insider Josina Anderson seemingly accused Browns coach Kevin Stefanski of setting Sanders up for failure.

"Let's be clear: This is not an intentional Shedeur Sanders "debut" coached-up with any 1st-team reps all season from Kevin Stefanski," Anderson wrote on X. "Sanders is playing by default only, due to a Dillon Gabriel concussion!

Sanders was promoted to Gabriel's backup after the Browns traded Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Browns coach Kevin Stefnaski reflected on managing Dillon Gabriel, Sheduer Sanders

The Browns have made several changes to their quarterback room this season, and Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski reflected on managing the two rookie quarterbacks this season.

“Because you have so many rookies, you have two rookie quarterbacks, you’re trying to maximize every minute you have out there. We’ve done individual periods on Mondays and Saturdays, which we haven’t done before, for players that didn’t play in the game,” Stefanski said.

The Ravens came from behind in the second half after Sanders failed to convert several passes in the fourth quarter against Baltimore.

"I know I'm made for it," Sanders said. "I don't think there was a doubt on my mind on that final drive we were gonna go down and score. Things happened and we didn't."

With Dillon Gabriel's availability uncertain for next week's clash, Sanders could be named the starting quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders game.
