Taylor Swift's reported choice of wedding date has been criticized by a number of fans. On Thursday, Page Six reported that the pop superstar would marry Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce on June 13 at Ocean House in Watch Hill, an upscale cliffside resort in Westerly, Rhode Island.
Page Six also reported that Swift paid another couple an unspecified but significantly large amount to relocate their ceremony elsewhere.
And fans shared their dismay, with many accusing Swift of acting "entitled."
"She's becoming Kim Kardashian entitled right before our eyes," one commented.

When approached for comment by Page Six, representatives for Swift and Kelce declined to respond. The following day, however, Stephanie Leavitt, area director for sales and marketing at Ocean House, denied the report when asked about it by TMZ:
"When clients and their families choose Ocean House as their wedding venue, it is an agreement and commitment between our team and that family. Ocean House would not and is not allowing another party or entity to buy a wedding group out of a contracted wedding date."
She continued:
"We appreciate the interest in our brides and grooms yet allow them to confirm their wedding location with who they choose.”
A breakdown of the reasoning behind Taylor Swift's choice of venue and date of wedding with Travis Kelce
For Taylor Swift and her fans, the specifics of her wedding to Travis Kelce carry much weight.
Ocean House is famous within NFL circles for hosting San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey and former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo's wedding in the 2024 offseason. Most notably, however, it is located near Swift's estate, which became her preferred venue after her reported plans to get married in Italy did not come to fruition.
A source told the US Sun that Swift was planning to spend $1.2 million on gardening renovations on the site, in addition to a plan to give her female friends like Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid red eternity roses, just as Kelce did to her:
“Taylor dreams of being fully surrounded by flowers, with lush floral bushes everywhere, making her teenage dream of marrying in a sea of flowers come true.
“She wants the entire celebration to feel like a wave of flowers, with arrangements of white, purple, and pink orchids, plus blue, white, and pink hydrangeas, and peonies in pink, white, and red tones.”
The date, June 13, also carries much significance. Thirteen is reportedly Swift's lucky number, as she was born on Dec. 13, 1989. Also, the date can be written as 6/13/26, with the digits adding up to 18, a multiple of nine, which, according to Numerology.com, represents the completion of a cycle.
