The Philadelphia Eagles lost 22-19 in overtime at the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday, and fans quickly found a reason for it.

Throughout the game, the defending Super Bowl champions often looked lost on both sides of the ball. In particular, Jalen Hurts had his worst game of the season with four interceptions against zero touchdowns.

One of them came in a sequence that saw him lose a fumble that he had forced off his own pick, while another was the game-decider in the extra period after he had taken the offense to within field goal range.

And fans were open in their anger and dismay at Nick Sirianni's mismanagement:

The result spoiled stellar outings for Saquon Barkley (20 carries for 122 yards and a touchdown) and AJ Brown (six receptions for 100 yards).

The Chargers, meanwhile, got a mediocre performance from Justin Herbert in his first game since undergoing surgery on his left hand. He completed just 12 of 26 attempts for 139 yards and a touchdown to Omarion Hampton against an interception to Adoree' Jackson, and ate seven sacks.

However, they were buoyed by kicker Cameron Dicker, who went perfect in five field goal attempts, including the decisive 54-yarder in overtime.

HC Nick Sirianni, QB Jalen Hurts speak up after Eagles’ loss at Chargers

After the game, Nick Sirianni was blunt about the nature of the Eagles’ loss. He said:

“That one stings. … At the end of the day we had some turnovers in this game, which is uncharacteristic of us. … Hard to beat a team on the road when you can’t finish, and I take that on myself.”

In the past weeks, offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo had come under fire for his often disastrous playcalling, and it came to a head here. When asked about whether he would be “more involved” with the offense, Sirianni said:

“I’m the Head Coach, so my attention goes to places I feel it needs to go. … I’ll continue to go in there with those guys and grind it out through the weeds with them.”

Jalen Hurts, meanwhile, was very apologetic about his performance:

“I didn’t play well enough. Too many turnovers. Lots of opportunities. Especially when we get on the other side of the 50. But I wasn’t able to get us in the box. … We lost.”

The Eagles next host the Las Vegas Raiders this Sunday. Kickoff is at 1 pm ET on Fox.
