Jalen Hurts had one of the worst games of his career on Monday, throwing four interceptions against no touchdowns in the Philadelphia Eagles' 22-19 loss at the Los Angeles Chargers. And fans have looked back on a former player's comment as a jinx.

Hurts was very apologetic about the missed opportunities during his post-fight presser:

“Everything was trending forward in terms of our execution and us taking advantage of our opportunities going down the field. But I was one play off.“... So it definitely stings.”

He continued by sharing where his mindset was:

“Ultimately, bearing everything that has happened or has unfolded throughout the game, it's me asking myself, ‘How do I respond from it? How do I respond to it? How do I improve? How do I work? How do I dig deeper and find a way to figure it out?’”

Meanwhile, coach Nick Sirianni had this to say about helping him win games:

“I’ve got to do a better job of helping him in those scenarios. It's always that we look at ourselves as coaches first. 'Did we help him be in (a) position to succeed and then execute?'”

Ryan Clark blames Jalen Hurts for game-costing pick at Chargers

For the past few weeks, Jalen Hurts' offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo has accrued much blame for mishandling the offense. But during Monday's post-game show, Ryan Clark insisted that it was the other way around when it came to the final play.

The former safety posited that Hurts must have miscalculated the Chargers' coverage scheme, thinking that Cam Hart was going to cover Dallas Goedert. Instead, the cornerback jammed Jahan Dotson between himself and Tony Jefferson, leaving almost no room for a reception:

"This actually was a good call by Kevin Patullo that was read wrong by Jalen Hurts."

The Eagles' next game is against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. Kickoff is at 1 pm ET on Fox.
