On Monday, NFL analyst Skip Bayless slammed Mahomes for his sloppy performance against the Texans.

"I missed the new NFL rule that Patrick Mahomes is above criticism for the rest of his career," Bayless said on "The Arena: Gridiron" show. "Mahomes has become wildly, inconsistently inaccurate."

Ever since the Chiefs drafted Mahomes in 2017, he has led them to five Super Bowls, winning three of them.

The Chiefs were on course to complete a three-peat of Super Bowl wins, but their hopes for unprecedented glory were crushed with a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the big game in February this year.

Nonetheless, Mahomes has been inconsistent this season, despite showing his flashes of brilliance. The Chiefs QB has 3,398 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, 10 interceptions and four rushing TDs.

While Mahomes' stats in a nutshell are not poor by any means, his accuracy has been the main talking point. He has completed 299 of 474 passes (63.1%), and has recorded his lowest passing completion rate since his rookie year, when he played in just one game.

The Chiefs have won nine AFC West titles in the past nine seasons. Seven of those divisional titles have come with Patrick Mahomes as the team's starting QB.

However, after suffering seven losses already, Kansas City won't be in contention to win the AFC West this season.

The Chiefs, who are on a two-game losing streak, will face the LA Chargers in Week 15 on Sunday. Even if Kansas City wins its remaining four regular season games, it has to depend on other results for a potential playoff berth.
