NFL analyst Mina Kimes has been involved in a couple of controversies in recent time. The ESPN talent has endured negative comments on social media and other platforms since she rose to national fame, but Kimes has never shied away from replying to people trying to bring him down. The latest episode came on Wednesday, when she responded to an online troll on X. As Kimes announced the newest episode of her "The Mina Kimes Show" with Domonique Foxworth, somebody went after her, but used the wrong terminology to make their point."Women shouldn’t be allowed to talk sports. This DIY hire is brainless, clueless.. her takes are dog s**t," @floflo1017 tweeted on Tuesday.Kimes replied by mocking the person's misuse of "DIY hire.""'DIY hire,'" she wrote."DIY" stands for "do it yourself," and it's often used in tutorials online. This person likely wanted to call her a "DEI" hire, which means Kimes was hired by ESPN on the principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Over the years, calling someone a "DEI hire" has been considered derogatory. Before this, Mina Kimes had found herself in the news for clashing with former "Last Chance U" coach Jason Brown. After that, she issued an apology for having endorse Solitaire Cash, a gambling app owned by Papaya Gaming, a company found to have defrauded players by planting bots into its games.“The truth is: I didn’t spend any time looking into the whole thing, and that’s 100% on me. Thought it was just typical marketing work, and I’m deeply embarrassed I didn’t vet it. A colossal f–k-up on my part," Kimes tweeted.Mina Kimes agrees with JJ Watt's take on Myles Garrett's missing out weekly awardMina Kimes voiced her disagreement with the NFL not giving Myles Garrett the AFC Defensive Player of the Week award after he posted four sacks against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11. Watt criticized the rule on X."The requirement that your team win the game for you to win an individual award is very bizarre. It’s best defensive player of the week. Not best defensive player whose offense also played well this week."Kimes agreed, adding that Garrett has done enough to secure the award every week."The truth is Myles Garrett should probably win this....almost every week 😬."Kimes is a strong presence on social media, whether it is for good or bad reasons, and it doesn't seem like she'll stop popping up soon.
