In his post-game press conference, Tomlin was asked by a reporter about assessing Rodgers' performance, but the Steelers coach answered rhetorically.

"How would you? Next question." Tomlin said while frowing and staring at the reporter.

Tomlin's response appeared to stem from the irritation of repeated questions about the veteran quarterback.

Rodgers signed with the Steelers in the offseason after a long saga around his future in the NFL. The four-time MVP signed a one-year, $13.65 million deal with Pittsburgh.

Rodgers has done well for the Steelers so far. However, he was critical of himself after the loss to the Chargers.

“A lot of stuff wasn’t working,” Rodgers said postgame. “We were bad on third down. I was just a little bit off — missed DK (Metcalf) early, could’ve been a big play. Little high to Jonnu (Smith). But yeah, we didn’t run the ball super effectively in the first half.

"I missed, obviously, some throws, for sure. And then we weren’t getting guys open and couldn’t put it all together. Times guys were open, I missed the throws that I usually make."

Prior to the game against the Chargers, Rodgers had 1,692 passing yards with 17 touchdowns and five interceptions. Pittsburgh is still leading the AFC North with a 5-4 record.
