There’s a lot of confusion about who will be behind centre for the Arizona Cardinals on Monday. It’s a question only Jonathan Gannon knows, and it appears the head coach is keeping everybody in the dark on that matter, including his own players. Either that, or the players have been instructed to remain tight-lipped about who will start on Monday against the Dallas Cowboys.Reporters on Friday told wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. that they didn’t know who was going to start their next game. Harrison’s response:“I don’t either,” he said with a smile. In their previous two games, the starter was Jacoby Brissett, though Kyler Murray could be available to return from his foot injury. The former first overall draft pick has had a lot of time to heal from that issue, with the Cardinals coming off a bye week. The Cardinals are currently on a five-game losing streak, with all five of those losses being by a single score. Murray hurt his foot in the team’s 22-21 loss to the Tennessee Titans in early October. If we see Murray starting on Monday, that would seemingly put to bed all of the trade speculation surrounding him at the moment. In five games played this season, Murray has completed 68.3% of his passes for 962 yards and 6 touchdowns with 3 interceptions. At the same time, he’s faced a ton of pressure, taking 16 sacks over that span.Brissett is 0-2 as the starter, only tossing 1 interception and has 4 TD passes in four appearances in 2025.Cardinals activity closely aligns with the Baltimore Ravens Jonathan Gannon has said Murray is the starting quarterback when he’s ready to return, but when that moment comes remains a mystery. The coach is holding his lineup card close to his chest and not revealing a lot. It’s eerily similar to what the Baltimore Ravens did leading up to their game with the Chicago Bears. There was every indication that Lamar Jackson would return from the injury front in that game, as Baltimore was coming off a bye week, giving the two-time league MVP an extra week of rest. In the end, though, he was ruled out at the last second for Tyler Huntley. Jackson returned to the Ravens lineup on Thursday in their 28-6 victory over the Miami Dolphins.Gannon might continue to be coy about this situation until just before kickoff, it seems, on Monday. The Cardinals are 2-5 and dead last in the NFC West.
