Former NFL tight end Shannon Sharpe has reacted to the latest viral Shilo Sanders news after a waitress trolled him for tipping $50. Netizens are divided on the issue, with many taking the side of Sanders while others are supporting the waitress.

Sharpe came to Sanders’ defense on his show, Nightcap, which he co-hosts with Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson. The three-time Super Bowl champion said (1:40:53):

“Now a lot of times you go to places, the tip, the gratuity, is already included. I mean, when they bring you room service, the service charge is already included, and they think they want tip. And I got a tip for you. Don't eat egg salad and ride the bus. That please don't, because I ain't got nothing for you. How do I go to self-checkout, and they talk about tip? I'm checking myself out, and you want me to leave a tip. Okay. I call get takeout you want... what did you do? All you do is bringing up my order, and you want a tip? Man, y'all better get out my face... So you want 18% service charge and a tip on top of it. Man, they doing too much.”

Shilo Sanders’ life after NFL

Shilo Sanders has since embraced his lifestyle content creation after getting waived by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in August. The Colorado alum went undrafted in the NFL Draft earlier this year before signing with the Bucs as an undrafted free agent.

The safety was given playing time in the preseason, playing in the Bucs’ preseason game against the Buffalo Bills on Aug. 23. The former Jackson State star got ejected from the game after punching the Bills’ tight end Zach Davidson.

He was further sanctioned by the NFL with a $4,669 fine after the Bucs waived him. The Bucs head coach, Todd Bowles, was clear about punching being unacceptable in the league, saying:

“You can’t throw punches in this league. I mean, that’s inexcusable. They’re gonna get you every time. Gotta grow from that.”

Fortunately for Shilo Sanders, there are other plans outside football for him to explore, according to his dad, Deion Sanders, who said:

“We’re praying that he gets another opportunity to go with a team, but if he doesn’t, the plans have already been put forward for what he’s going to do next.”

Meanwhile, Shilo’s younger brother, Shedeur, is still waiting for a playing opportunity with the Cleveland Browns.
