Shedeur Sanders has been in the limelight after guiding the Cleveland Browns to a 24-10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in his first start for the team in Week 12 on Sunday. However, Sanders started because fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel did not clear the concussion protocols.
The Browns have also announced that Sanders will start in Week 13 against the San Francisco 49ers. However, Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot shared her opinion on the QB1 choice for the team.
"There might come a point where it makes sense to see a little bit more of (Dillon)," Cabot said via "92.3 The Fan." "But, I think the hope inside the building is probably, 'let's not let it get to that point.'"
The Browns took Gabriel with the No. 94 pick in this year's NFL draft. They took Sanders 50 picks later.

Gabriel was initially the QB2 for Cleveland, behind Joe Flacco. However, Gabriel took over as the starting quarterback on Oct. 1, a week before Flacco was traded to the Cincinnati Bengals.
In six starts, Gabriel posted a 1-5 record. He suffered a concussion in Week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens, leading to Sanders making his debut in the second half of the game.
Although Gabriel has cleared the concussion protocols, Cleveland will continue with Sanders as QB1.
How did Shedeur Sanders fare in his first start for the Browns?

Shedeur Sanders completed 11 of 20 passes for 209 yards with one touchdown and an interception against the Raiders. He also had -1 yard on one carry.
Sanders also became the first Browns quarterback to win his first NFL start since Eric Zeier in 1995.
The Browns (3-8) are virtually out of the playoff race. However, they can use the rest of the season to build a foundation around one of their rookie QBs.
It will be interesting to see if Sanders can lead Cleveland to victory against San Francisco in Week 13 on Sunday.
