Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has revealed the rationale behind the removal of games and ping pong tables from the team’s locker room. It was initially reported that the Ravens’ coaching staff ordered the removal of ping pong tables during the team’s recent four-game losing streak. However, the quarterback shed light on the story on Tuesday, revealing he instigated the move as a way to show the management that players meant business.According to the 28-year-old passer, he had informed the head equipment manager of the Ravens, Kenico Hines, to remove anything unrelated to football preparation. He said:“I told Kenico, our head equipment guy. I told him to take all the games, ping pong, turn the TVs off—if we could have taken out the TVs, they’d have been out too.”The ping pong tables, games, and toys were provided for the players by the Ravens owner, Steve Bisciotti, as a means of recreation. Jackson noted that the players appreciate the gesture. However, as the team faced a rough patch this season, the quarterback intended to show the world that they weren’t getting carried away. He continued:“I appreciate Mr. Steve for putting that in for us, but we had to focus. I don’t want to say people don’t take their jobs seriously. Don’t get me wrong, but I didn’t feel it was the time for that. We’ve got a lot of work to do.”The Ravens lost four straight games before finally getting a win on Sunday, beating the Chicago Bears 30-16. But Lamar Jackson thinks he and his teammates have a lot more to do if they’ll have the games back in the locker room. He said:“We’re not going to have them the rest of the year. We’ll probably have them next year, summertime, OTAs, or something. But right now it’s not the focus.”Lamar Jackson to return to action on ThursdayAfter getting sidelined with a hamstring injury for three games, Lamar Jackson is ready to return to action when the Ravens face the Miami Dolphins. Speaking on Tuesday, the quarterback expressed excitement. He said:“Extremely excited. Can’t wait to touch the grass with my guys. It’s been a while.”Jackson will be looking to add to his 68 of 95 passes for 869 yards and 10 touchdowns when he faces the Dolphins defense. The matchup is set to kick off at 8:15 p.m. (ET).
