Kevin Stefanski is still largely undecided on what his quarterback decision for next week will be.

In the third quarter of the Cleveland Browns' 23-16 loss to the Ravens, fifth-round rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders entered an NFL field for the first time in his career, subbing in for a concussed Dillon Gabriel. He would finish with four completions out of 16 attempts for 47 yards and an interception to Nate Wiggins.

After the game, Stefanski said about the possibility of Sanders starting at the similarly hapless Las Vegas Raiders:

"We'll look at it. ...He's gonna battle like he does. I’m sure there are things that we can clean up. Those are things we’ll look at tomorrow."

He continued:

“We trust all of our guys. Trust our guys to perform, and he’s no different. Playing a backup role, as we’ve talked about over the years, that’s tough to come in there. But we trust him. I know there’s things that he’s going to want to do better, but that’s why we work.”

Kevin Stefanski discusses performances of Myles Garrett, special teams in loss to Ravens

Elsewhere in the press conference, Kevin Stefanski had these thoughts on the defense, which was led by edge rusher Myles Garrett’s four sacks on Lamar Jackson:

“I thought there were some outstanding moments out there from our defense. I thought (Garrett) and the defensive line provided pressure. Obviously, there’s plays that we want back, but I thought to stand up and hold them to field goals in the red zone was a big deal.”

He also had some praise for the special teams unit, which gave up kick and punt return touchdown in last week’s 27-20 loss at the equally disastrous New York Jets:

“I thought there were some really good moments. Again, we can be better. There’s a couple coverage reps that I know we can better. But we have a prideful group that wants to be better.”

Finally, he spoke up on Mark Andrews’ decisive touchdown for the Ravens:

“I think you see that …in different short yardage situations. Philly has the sweep off of it, so you know that there’s plays that they have off of those looks, obviously well designed by them.”

The Browns, who are now 2-8, will look to avoid a sub-.500 finish at the Raiders.
