Justin Fields urges Aaron Glenn's Jets to fix key issue ahead of TNF clash vs. Patriots

The New York Jets recorded their second win under the leadership of Aaron Glenn against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Despite not looking like the better team in the matchup, the Jets secured a 27-20 victory at MetLife Stadium to move to a 7-2 record.

Ahead of the Jets’ crucial Thursday night game against the New England Patriots in Week 11, Justin Fields offered advice for Glenn on what the team needs to fix. The quarterback, who led the offense in the last two wins, said they need to start games on a strong footing.

“Starting fast and just creating more explosive on early, Field said when questioned about where the Jets need to improve in his media availability on Tuesday. “We always preach to start fast and finish strong.”

“Like I said, after the game on Sunday, I felt like we finished strong, but I think we gotta do a better job with starting fast. We never want field goals in the red zone. So also taking advantage of that and scoring touchdowns in the red zone.”

The Jets face a difficult challenge against the Patriots, who have been one of the best teams in the league this season. Staging an upset at Gillette Stadium on Thursday would mark a new high for the team under Aaron Glenn.

Despite facing one of the league’s best teams, Aaron Glenn is not giving in. In his media availability on Tuesday, the Jets coach expressed his team's readiness to face the Mike Vrabel-led Patriots on Thursday.

“When you watch the tape, you can really tell how Vrabel has his fingerprints on how this team operates,” Glenn said. “He did a hell of a job from the offseason, going to get these big-time players that fit what he's trying to do. And not just that, the coaching staff that he brought together.

“You could tell that Josh McDaniels has done a really good job with this quarterback. Big, physical, athletic, can make all the throws and everything revolves around how he operates and what he does… So this is going to be a fight, but we welcome the fight, we welcome it.”

Aaron Glenn will see his team's defense, which saw the departure of a host of its top players in the trade window, face a huge challenge against the Patriots with Drake Maye. The Patriots quarterback is now the betting favorite to win the NFL MVP following a series of outstanding performances.
