Joy Taylor’s experience with father’s domestic violence draws reaction from ex-49ers WR Terrell Owens

Former FS1 analyst Joy Taylor opened up about her painful childhood, sharing how growing up in a violent home affected her deeply.

A clip was posted by her podcast’s Instagram page on Thursday. Former NFL star Terrell Owens saw it and reacted with two emojis.

“🙏🏾🤎,” Owens wrote.

Meanwhile, ex-NFL running back LeSean McCoy empathized with Taylor.

"That’s some real … luv JT❤️," McCoy wrote.

Taylor shared her first memory of fear that has stayed with her since.

“My mother running away from my father as he chased her around the kitchen table and I'm hiding my younger brother and sister in my arms and she is screaming at him not to hit her in front of us,” Taylor said, via "Two Personal."

She also talked about her father and how their broken relationship shaped how she connects with people.

“My father is still alive," Taylor said. "We do not speak. We haven't spoken in many, many, many, many years. In a lot of ways, not having a man in my life that I can call on in the way that you would call on a father has isolated me from men, has caused me to have a deep distrust for people.”

Even though she is close with her mom and brothers, Taylor admitted that the chaos she grew up with made her overly independent. It also left her with emotional scars.

“I don't know how to properly contextualize how surviving in an environment like that could ever just switch off as an adult," Taylor said. "Getting and breaking the chains of chaos that that kind of childhood put in me was very hard to do and I'm still working on it.”

Joy's parents are Anthony Taylor and Georgia Taylor. She has four siblings, two brothers and two sisters, Jason, Noah, Tiffany and Gracie.

Jason is a former NFL defensive end and Pro Football Hall of Famer. He played for the Miami Dolphins.

Joy Taylor became a "Patriarchy Punisher" on Halloween

Joy Taylor surprised her fans with back-to-back Halloween looks.

She posted her second look on Instagram on Nov. 1. Taylor wore a black bunny dominatrix-style outfit with tall ears, a mask, cutout bodysuit, fishnets, shiny gloves and boots.

“Meet Patriarchy Punisher. I’m looking for a very obedient sub,” Taylor wrote.

She followed it up with a GRWM clip.

“GRWM to go hunt as Patriarchy Punisher,” Taylor wrote.

Following Taylor's second Halloween look, NFL analyst Jason Whitlock criticized her.

"They're saying this is the Peanut Butter Princess, Joy Taylor. True?" Whitlock tweeted on Monday.

For her first look, Taylor channeled the horror hostess, "Elvira: Mistress of the Dark." She wore a black beehive wig, ghostly pale makeup and a skin-tight black gown with a plunging neckline.
