Jaxson Dart returned as the New York Giants' starting quarterback in their 33-15 loss to the New England Patriots on Monday. Dart, who missed New York's past two games due to a concussion, took a big hit in the first quarter while scrambling out of the pocket on a second-and-13 play.Dart was trying to get the first down before Patriots linebacker Christian Elliss sent him flying through the air, and the QB landed on the sidelines. Although Dart was able to get back on his feet swiftly after taking the hit, former NFL coach Jon Gruden urged the Giants QB to be more responsible."Please get out of bounds," Gruden tweeted when he saw the play on which Dart took a hit.Dart could have run out of bounds to avoid the hit, but appeared eager to gain as much yardage as he could. Fortunately for the Giants QB, he was able to continue without significant damage.Dart went 17 of 24 for 139 yards and a touchdown against New England. He also added 20 yards on four rushing attempts.Gruden had called out Dart's style of play even before he was drafted by the Giants in the first round this year. He said the former Ole Miss QB's style was "reckless," "careless," and "dangerous" after watching film from his college career.Giants QB Jaxson Dart opens up on taking big hit vs. PatriotsNFL: New York Giants QB Jaxson Dart - Source: ImagnAfter the Giants' loss to the Patriots, Jaxson Dart opened up on getting a big hit on his return to action."No, look, I understand the question, but this is football," Dart said.
