Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones continues to defend his decision to trade four-time Pro Bowler Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. On Monday, during an interview with Stephen A. Smith on SiriusXM, he highlighted the time when the linebacker laid on a training table on the sidelines during their preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons.Jones compared Parsons' behavior to that of Cowboys greats such as Michael Irvin and DeMarcus Ware."Not one time, not eve in the hottest of days and two-a-days in August in Texas, between eleven in the morning or when they quit practicing or four in the afternoon, did I never see any one of those two go over and lay on a damn training table in front of a million people," Jones said as per Heavy.com."Never. It's not in their makeup. ... It's just not in their makeup."Jones highlighted how this was the tipping point in the team's decision not to extend Parsons."And you'd like to think that you're going to be (paying) the highest that's ever been paid for something in football, you could get that. And when you don't have it and you pay the highest that's ever been in football, you really got a problem."During the preseason, Micah Parsons did not play for the Cowboys because of his contract dispute with the team. After requesting a trade on August 1, the team decided to trade the linebacker to the Packers for two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark.Micah Parsons signed a four-year deal worth $188 million with the Packers and became the highest-paid non-QB in league history. The four-time Pro Bowler has helped the team to a 5-2-1 record while tallying 20 total tackles, 6.5 sacks, seven tackles for loss and 14 quarterback hits.Charles Barkley calls out Jerry Jones and the Cowboys for trading away Micah ParsonsAmid the team's defensive woes, retired 11-time NBA All-Star Charles Barkley criticized the Cowboys owner for trading away their best defensive player.Last Thursday on ESPN "Tip-Off", he said that Jones should not complain about the team's on-field issues after the decision they took in the offseason regarding Micah Parsons."They have us contractually obligated to talk about the Dallas Cowboys every day, even though their defense can't stop a bloody nose," Barkley said. "Don't trade you best defensive player and then whine about (how you) can't stop anybody."On Monday, the Cowboys suffered another disappointing 27-17 loss at home at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals. They are now 3-5-1 this season with a two-game losing streak under their belt.
