Former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiasion believes that Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart is already better in his rookie year compared to Broncos second-year starter Bo Nix.

On Friday's episode of "WFAN Sports Radio" the 1988 NFL MVP was talking about the Broncos' 10-7 victory over the Raiders on Thursday. Esiason expressed skepticism about Bo Nix's success in the league after watching his performance. On the other hand, he believes that Dart has the talent to become a legend in the making.

"I will say this, the thing that popped into my mind, watching some of this game, especially in the second half. It's that, it is already evident that Jaxson Dart's better than Bo Nix," Esiason said.

"He is. There's no two ways about it. Bo Nix is a fine player. I don't know if he'll ever reach where I think a lot of people thought he could go. And maybe he'll prove me wrong in what I'm saying right here. ... I think Jaxson Dart's got a ton more poise and just throws the ball better and just has a better feel for the game."

Against the Raiders, Nix had a slow-paced game. The Broncos quarterback completed 16 of 28 passes for 150 yards and one TD passing with two interceptions to his name. Sean Payton's team is 8-2 after Thursday's win. Last season, Nix helped the Broncos qualify for the playoffs in his rookie debut as the team's starting quarterback.

On the other hand, Jaxson Dart has been impressive with his performance despite the Giants' ability to win games. He was named as the QB1 after the team's disappointing 0-3 start to the season under veteran Russell Wilson.

The Giants are currently on a three-game losing streak with a 2-7 record. They will face the Chicago Bears on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. So far this season, Dart has tallied 1,175 yards and 10 TDs passing while rushing for 251 yards and five touchdowns.

Jaxson Dart expresses gratitude for having veteran Jameis Winston on the team

Apart from Dart and Wilson, the Giants also brought in Jameis Winston this offseason on a two-year deal worth $8 million.

Despite him acting as the third-string option on the QB depth chart, the rookie highlighted the importance of Winston's presence in the locker room.

"I mean, he (Winston) is like a coach on the field, in the film room, where we spend extra time," Dart said. "He's a lot of times just quizzing me constantly.
"He's teaching me things that he's gone through in his past, and at the same time, our relationship goes far beyond just the football field and in personal life. ... Like you said, it's very unique to have those two guys (Winston and Wilson). ... It's been a blessing to have him in our corner this year."

Jameis Winston also revealed his desire to stay with the Giants and help Dart develop into a "superstar" in the league. The veteran also highlighted how he wants to win a Super Bowl before hanging up his cleats.
