Jaxson Dart reveals honest feelings about Cam Skattebo's return to the Giants' facility after undergoing ankle surgery

Jaxson Dart is elated to have Cam Skattebo back at the New York Giants’ facility following his devastating injury. The rookie running back was carted off the field in the Week 8 game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday after buckling his ankle while attempting a catch.

In his media availability on Wednesday, Dart expressed his feelings on having Skattebo around the team’s facility despite the fact that he's set to be sidelined for an extended period. The running back will be out of action for four to six months after successful surgery.

“That was good,” Dart said. “I think that's kind of just be how he is. Like, he's going to hate sitting at home and whatnot, so I'm sure he'll be around here a lot. It's good to see his face.”

The Giants are set to miss Cam Skattebo’s crucial production on offense, which has seen him rush for 410 yards and five touchdowns on 101 carries this season. However, Jaxson Dart is confident that other players on the team can step up in his absence.

“Other guys just kind of have to pick it up,” Dart said. “That's just the name of it. It's just that it'll be a little different about them out there, just yelling and whatnot. But we got some new guys in the building, so we're going to pick up.”

“He's just that energy guy,” Dart said. “Obviously, he's down with kind of what happened, his injury and whatnot. At the same time, he's a great teammate. He wants all the guys around to succeed. I don't really expect much differently from him as a person.

“At the same time, he's going to be a continual leader because we have conversations all the time. We feel we’re going to be here for a very long time. That's kind of the impact he brings to the table, and he wants to be consistent with that.”
