Jason Whitlock blasts NFL after Shedeur Sanders greets ex-prisoner Max B at Browns vs. Jets game

Jason Whitlock criticized the NFL as Shedeur Sanders greeted rapper and former prisoner Max B on the sideline during Sunday's Browns-Jets game.

On X on Sunday, the veteran sports commentator reposted a video of Sanders greeting Max B and expressed his disdain at the league for platforming him.

"Hours after being released from prison after serving a long sentence murder/manslaughter, Max B gets warm greeting from Shedeur Sanders on the sideline of Browns game. NFL 'platforms' Bad Bunny and Max B. What a world," Whitlock tweeted.

Max B served a lengthy prison sentence for charges related to manslaughter and robbery before his 2024 release.

Whitlock previously criticized the NFL and Bad Bunny about the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show. He accused the league of promoting values that he described as "anti-Christian."

“The league was using the halftime stage as 'a tool to promote demonic worship, demonic energy, gayness, transgenderism, anything that defiles Jesus Christ,’" Whitlock said on Sept. 30, via "Fearless with Jason Whitlock."

He also questioned NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's plans for the league.

“Need to ask Roger Goodell, how far is this going to go? Will Satan personally receive an invitation to perform at halftime next year?” Whitlock said.

Shedeur Sanders reunites with family, delivers defiant message amid challenging season

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders returned to Colorado during the team's bye week. He reunited with his father, Buffaloes coach Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders, and his brother, Deion Sanders Jr.

It has been a difficult year for the Sanders family. Shedeur slipped to the fifth round of April's draft, Shilo was cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the preseason after going undrafted and Colorado will miss a bowl game this season.

At the Buffaoes-West Virginia Mountaineers game on Saturday, Shedeur and Deion Jr. wore shirts with the message, “The Rejected Will Be Respected.” It signaled their response to public criticism and professional setbacks. Deion Jr., who manages the family’s media ventures, posted the moment online with the caption, “Rejected."

Shedeur’s trip also came after he was named the Browns’ backup quarterback for Week 10 against the New York Jets.

Coach Prime discussed their reunion.

"For him to take a jet to come here and see pops, I was in tears," Coach Prime told reporters on Saturday. "We didn't show that part, but it got me, it touched me."

Despite lingering back issues, Shedeur continues to prepare for his NFL debut amid Cleveland’s (2-6) disappointing start and inconsistent play from Dillon Gabriel.
