Jason Kelce shares family ritual for Thanksgiving involving mom Donna's special contribution

Jason Kelce opened up about his Thanksgiving traditions in an exclusive interview with People magazine. The retired NFL star said his wife, Kylie, and her mother handle most of the cooking for the holiday meal.

His mother, Donna, also joins in, bringing along the homemade dinner rolls she’s made since his childhood.

Kelce, now co-host of the New Heights podcast, added that he's been in charge of frying the turkey for the past few years. He also shared one of his mom's traditions, gifting new Christmas ornaments each year to mark the season.

"One of the traditions we started is my mom has been passing new [Christmas] ornaments on," Kelce said in an interview with People. "So like, going out, cutting down the Christmas tree and putting it up and putting the ornaments on the tree. I'm trying to turn that into a tradition where we do that as close to Thanksgiving as possible.

"We haven't accomplished that yet. I would love to cut down the tree, have Thanksgiving, and then the next day, the tree is being put up and decorated. That's what I want to do. We haven't done it yet.”

It’s also the first Thanksgiving for the Kelce family after Travis Kelce proposed to his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. Last year, Jason Kelce celebrated the festivities with Swift's family.

Jason Kelce opens up about a trip with his daughters

In this week’s episode of the New Heights podcast, Jason Kelce opened up about a recent trip to Disney World with his wife, Kylie, and their four daughters.

"I'm in a full fight with Wyatt over a f--king waffle," he said (via E! Online). "Ruins about 30 minutes of our entire day because she wants a whole waffle, and I'm trying to explain to her that there's only four waffles and there's f--king 15 people.”

Following their vacation, Kelce and his wife will prepare for the holiday season. It would be their youngest daughter, Finnely "Finn" Ann Kelce’s first Christmas. The pair welcomed their fourth child in April.

Their elder daughter, Wyatt Elizabeth Kelce, was born in 2019, and then the pair welcomed Elliot Kelce in 2021. Bennett Kelce was born in 2023.
