Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid raised eyebrows with a hilarious comment about his team's approach to its final five games. He addressed the media following the Chiefs' Thanksgiving loss to the Dallas Cowboys and opened up about their record and potentially missing the playoffs.
"We're going to try to tickle your tonsils on every play, every game," Reid said. "That's the attitude that we're coming in with, and then you let the chips fall where they may".
Jason Kelce reacted to the unintentional humor in Reid's choice of words on Wednesday's episode of his podcast.
"And Andy Reid came back with this banger on the confidence this team could win the final five games," Kelce said (Timestamp: 25:10), via "New Heights." "He said, 'we're going to try to tickle your tonsils on every play every game. That's the attitude that we're coming in with, and then you let the chips fall where they may.

"And I think that's, that's the attitude you got to come in with. And I just love the tickling the tonsils. Andy didn't mean it like that. Andy was just trying to say, shove the ball down the throat, which he will say, and he'll, he'll come up with little funny mannerisms, but the double entendre there, though."
Kansas City (6-6) is third in the AFC West, trailing the Denver Broncos (10-2) and the LA Chargers (8-4). The Chiefs are nearly out of the division title race, which they've clinched every year since 2015.
Kansas City has been plagued by penalties (fifth-most penalty yardage in the NFL). Its pass rush (22 sacks) and inability to create turnovers (11) have also not helped its cause.
The Chiefs will face the Houston Texans, Chargers, Tennessee Titans, Broncos and the Las Vegas Raiders in the last five weeks of the regular season.
Andy Reid on Patrick Mahomes' performance in loss vs. Cowboys
Patrick Mahomes completed 23 of 34 passes for 261 yards and four touchdowns in the 31-28 loss to the Cowboys on Thursday. During his postgame press conference, Chiefs coach Andy Reid backed his quarterback despite the loss.
"He battled his tail off. It's hard to look at when you lose a game. But he battled," Reid said.
With three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and Kansas City trailing 31-21, Mahomes connected with Hollywood Brown for a 10-yard touchdown. It reduced the deficit to three points; however, it wasn't enough to secure a win.
The Chiefs will face the Houston Texans on Sunday at 8:20 p.m. ET at Arrowhead Stadium.
