"Jalen Hurts lied to us": Ex-Eagles All-Pro calls out $255,000,000 QB over false promises amid reports of dysfunction in offense

Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles have lost back-to-back games. The defending Super Bowl's offense mainly looked lackluster in their Week 12 and 13 losses against the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears.

Following the Week 13 loss, former Eagles All-Pro defensive end Hugh Douglas called out Hurts. When asked about reports around Hurts not wanting to run with the ball, Douglas said,

"If that's true, then Jalen Hurts lied to us. That's because he said, and I quote. 'I don't care what it looks like as long as we win. If that's the truth, if that's what is going on, then you do care what it looks like."

"You don't care about winning as much as you've claimed that you did. I mean, that's the bottom line."

He concluded, saying,

"Jalen made it clear that he didn't care what his stats looked like as long as they won football games now, as much as this offense has been reeling. As much as this offense has not been in tune. If that's what the coaches feel, that's what will help get it going. Okay, I'm not saying it's all on you, but why aren't we doing that? Especially when you've made it crystal clear that you care about nothing but winning football games."

Jalen Hurts signed a five-year contract extension for $255 million ahead of the 2023 season and is one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks of his generation. The Alabama and Oklahoma product owns many franchise rushing records, and his rushing ability is key to the Eagles' offensive game plan.

However, his reported reluctance to run might be a factor in this season's offensive slowdown. Douglas isn't pleased with the news, and he made it crystal clear in the radio segment.

Jalen Hurts and the Eagles are up against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14

Jalen Hurts and the Eagles don't have time to grimace over their Week 13 loss to the Chicago Bears. The defending Super Bowl champions travel to Los Angeles to face off against Jim Harbaugh's Chargers.

The Eagles are enduring a mixed Super Bowl defense. Nick Sirianni's troops won their first four games before losing to the Denver Broncos in Week 5. Then they recorded yet another loss to the New York Giants in Week 6.

The Eagles regrouped and went on another four-game winning streak. However, the streak ended with a Week 12 loss to the Dallas Cowboys under Brian Schottenheimer. That was followed by a defeat against Ben Johnson's Chicago Bears.

Next up is a contest against a tricky Los Angeles Chargers team. The Chargers are 8-4 and fresh off a blowout win against the Las Vegas Raiders. Sirianni's troops must bring their A-game against the AFC West franchise.
