In 2023, he and his wife, Kealia, a former soccer player, were announced as minority investors in English club Burnley. He was even a guest player for them in a special seven-on-seven tournament the following year.Last month, he added La Liga side Espanyol to his portfolio, as Burnley's owners, Velocity Sports Limited (VSL), announced that it had completed a takeover from the China-based Ratstar Group, which had owned the club since 2015.Watt himself reacted to the development on his social media account:In a press statement, chairperson Alan Pace promised that both squads would retain their respective identities under the VSL umbrella:"Our role is not to replace legacy, but to build upon it, with care, with clarity, and with purpose.
