The Kansas City Chiefs' chances of making the playoffs increased after their come from behind victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
The Chiefs trailed the Colts 20-9 heading into the fourth quarter but displayed strong resilience to send the game into overtime for a 23-20 win. Following their sixth win of the season, Patrick Mahomes called it a do-or-die contest.
“It was kind of an urgency thing. I mean, obviously, you want to be urgent, but it was a do-or-die type of (game) where you had to make something happen, and guys made plays happen throughout the entire team."
On the latest episode of their "New Heights" podcast, former Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce reflected on Mahomes' comments after the game.

"Yeah, it's weird," Kelce said. "As a player, I always hated the term like, 'must win games.' 'This is a must-win game, Oh, we're already in the playoffs.' Well, no, we're not in the place. We're trying to get to the playoffs.

Travis Kelce hailed Patrick Mahomes as Chiefs' "fearless leader" after Colts win
While Jason Kelce reflected on Patrick Mahomes' post-game comments, his brother, Travis, highlighted the Chiefs quarterback's clutch plays, hailing him as their "fearless leader."
"It's the best, man, he's our fearless leader," Kelce said.
Patrick Mahomes completed 29 of his 46 passes for 352 yards against the Colts. Although the Chiefs are still in a tough spot in the race for the playoffs, Mahomes hailed the win as a step in the right direction.
“We needed a win like this, and now, let’s just try to build off it,” Mahomes said. “This is exactly what we needed. To win against a really good football team, and the game’s not going your way, (we) could have folded in that situation… The guys responded and then found a way to win on every single unit.”
The Chiefs are 6-5 for the season and will hope to extend their winning run when they visit the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday.
