Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles are going through a crisis. The team's offense has struggled, resulting in back-to-back losses. Jason Kelce wants Hurts to run the ball more, as the former Eagles center believes quarterback runs give the offense a significant edge.

Kelce retired in March 2024 following 13 years with Philadelphia. Meanwhile, Hurts is in his fifth season as the team's starting quarterback.

"It's an unquestioned advantage to be able to do quarterback runs," Kelce said on Wednesday, via SportsRadio 94WIP. "I would like to see them do more (quarterback) runs, I'm not going to lie.
"You get such better angles, the numbers are better, it makes life easy. It's almost like cheating. And it's been a big reason why the Eagles have been successful on the ground game throughout Hurts' tenure."

Hurts completed 46 of 73 passes for 519 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in the last two games. He explained that he and DeVonta Smith have struggled with their connection over that span.

"It was two guys on two different pages and that's a bit of the issues that we've kind of been having," Hurts said on Friday, via NBC Sports.

Kevin Patullo is handling play-calling duties for Philadelphia this season. The offensive coordinator has never called plays at the NFL level before.

Right tackle Lane Johnson missed the Bears game due to injury, and his absence created problems for an offense already searching for answers.

The Eagles will be back in action on Monday when they visit the LA Chargers. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET at SoFi Stadium.
